The project consists of the strategically phased decommissioning and demolition of all associated site works to 2no. existing temporary primary schools and the construction of 2no. new 16 classroom Primary Schools all at Firhouse, Dublin 24. The existing temporary schools will be removed from site by others. These works are to be phased as follows:
Phase one comprising of the construction of a Primary School (Firhouse ETNS) which consists of 16 classrooms, 2 classroom Special Needs Unit, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation with a total floor area of 3050sq.m. This also included the construction of the carpark, drop-off facilities, turning circle, external bin and bike stores, play areas and associated landscaping
Phase two comprises of the decommissioning and removal (of the existing temporary primary schools and the demolition and removal of the existing temporary school site works.
Phase three comprises the construction of a Primary school (Gaelscoil), which consists of 16 classrooms, 2 classroom Special Needs Unit, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation with a total floor area of 3165sq.m.
Phase three to also include for the completion of site works to the grounds, play areas and landscaping to the entire site. The site works to the school grounds consists of 2 no. 15sq.m external storage buildings, bin stores, playing pitch, ball courts, project gardens, cycle storage, landscaping and boundary treatment and all other associated site development works for each school.
The works to the remainder of the site consist of the provision of 70 car parking spaces, drop-off and pick-up facilities.
The overall project is due for completion in June 2018.
