The Monaghan Institute of Further Education project was designed and constructed as part of the Monaghan Education Campus on the former army barracks on the outskirts of Monaghan town involved the construction of an Institute of Higher Education to accommodate 700 students. The accommodation over three and four storeys is arranged n two blocks on either side of a central atrium. Specialist rooms ranged from nursery to dentistry, engineering to computer graphics and hairdressing to metalwork. The facility is connected to a biomass central heating plant system which heats the entire campus.
